Doors open at 7:30 PM. We are at Cinema Salem, One East India Square, on the Essex Street pedestrian mall. The evening runs ninety minutes with four cocktails, and every guest is 21 or older with ID.
How the evening runs
From the door at 7:30 PM to the last kiss.
7:30 PM. The doors open. Your ticket code and your ID get you to a table.
8:00 PM. The first glass arrives, The First Bite, with the first chapter: a solicitor, a castle, and a host with no reflection.
Then three more. Fresh Blood as the Count comes ashore. The Crypt when Van Helsing opens the tomb. Dracula's Kiss for the last chapter, the one you drink with him.
Ninety minutes later, you walk out onto Essex Street with the rest of Salem's October still going.
Getting here
Cinema Salem is inside Museum Place, the small mall whose doors open straight onto the Essex Street pedestrian mall. When you are standing on Essex Street in October, in the middle of the crowd, you are about a minute from our door.
The Newburyport/Rockport commuter rail line runs from Boston's North Station to Salem in about half an hour, and the station is about a ten-minute walk from our door. In October the city itself recommends the train over driving, and so do we.
